It is known as the Centrino Duo, the Core Duo is Intel's first dual-core processor developed for mobile computers and first released on January 5, 2006. In addition to being Intel's first mobile dual-core processor it was the first Intel processor to be used with Apple Macintosh computers.
The Core Solo is a version of the Intel Core Duo, except with only one core enabled. This is done to help create a faster processor at a more affordable price.
